TERRA-TEATRE (2023)

Soundscape, Ritual & Poetry

Understanding vulnerability as sharing ourselves authentically. Understanding wildness as the animal instinct that viscerally connects us to the landscape. When we challenge social conventions about love and intimacy we toss a coin in the air that rubs its two sides into one. A fuller entity that is both vulnerable and wild.

Terra Teatre is a live art performance that combines soundscape, ritualistic action and poetical story-telling. Vulnerability and wildness are found within the fertile soil and within the smoke of a social theatre burning.

LA VEU QUE T'INVITA (2021)

Audio-walk, Vocal Spatial Activation and Performance

This performance is an embodied invitation to inhabit the landscape through the lenses of the topology of time, inspired by the book The Spell of the Sensuous by David Abram.
You start with an outdoor audio-guide with a soundscape that invites you to return your attention to the landscape and the animate beings that are part of it, to circular time and the spherical Earth. This is followed by a collective vocal action indoors to activate space and time at ancient olive oil chambers, plus and a musical improvisation exploring the same concepts with voice and synthesizers in dialogue with Nu Diaz exhibition 'Lo que Dicen las Piedras'

THALWEG (2019)

Participatory Site-specific Performance

Thalweg is a participatory singing promenade along the river Thames exploring the connection between cultures and river rights.

Maori view their rivers as tupuna (ancestors). For Hindus, the rivers Yamuna and Ganges in India are Goddesses. The indigenous communities in the area of Chocó, in Colombia, have been designated ‘Guardians’ of the river by law.

What is the river Thames to Londoners, in all our diversity? Do rivers have a voice? Do they have rights? How can deepening the connection between culture and nature protect entire ecosystems, including ourselves

INNER CIRCLE (2019)

Immersive Choral Promenade Performance

In a rapidly changing city, Inner Circle reflects on the potential futures of public space. Upon the canvas of Arnold Circus gardens, this site specific performance juxtaposes the wishes of local groups for their ideal public space with how privatisation may potentially transform social behaviours.

Vocal music without words acquires a narrative through the spatialisation of sound and relationship to visual elements. The music of Inner Circle aims to live score the community's ideas. It seeks to embrace the audience in a sense of collectiveness in which all of us, invited into the Inner Circle, may be questioned about what we want from public space as the space that belongs to all.

FLOAT (2018)

Audio-walk

Float is a participatory audio-walk taking place in the Woolwich Foot Tunnel. Guided by the voice of a child, participants with headphones on are taken on a journey under the Thames and invited to connect to the themes of water, river pollution and personal memories. By following directions, thought prompts and soothing sounds, this work immerses the participating audience into a meditative underwater world.

DEFENCE TO FORBID (2018)

Promenade Oratorio Immersive Performance

Defence to Forbid is a funeral procession of lost public spaces to privatisation, a ritual lament and claim for democratic rights. The performance is an immersive promenade oratorio that physically and sonically maps the politics of Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS) in London and the UK.
